Did you know Gargoyles were incorporated into Gothic architecture for the same reason we have down-pipes and gutters on our homes now?

Originally, gargoyles had spouts for mouths and were hollow from the top of their heads. This was to direct the water off the roof of the home and away from the brickwork on the walls.

If you’re looking for a fun read in the holidays, SONG OF THE GARGOYLE by American Author Zilpha Keatley Snyder is a good 90’s throwback novel for young readers.
