Auditions for the 2015 Show Bugs class
All Theatre Bugs students aged 12 yrs and over are invited to audition for our Show Bugs class. While there are only limited positions available, this will be a fantastic opportunity for students to experience the audition process.
The auditions will take place 4 – 5pm Friday 21st November at our Norwood venue.
The group audition will be presented in the following format:
Group Dance – ‘Born To Be Alive’
Individual Singing – students should sing the first minute of a song from our SONG SELECTIONS
Individual Acting – students need to learn and perform one of our MONOLOGUE SELECTIONS
Students will receive the results of their audition by mail the following week.
Show Bugs weekly classes are held 4.15pm – 6.15pm Mondays at our Norwood venue. A high level of commitment is required from Show Bugs students as scripts, songs and dances must be learnt in shorter time frames and attendance is compulsory at all extra rehearsals. Outlined below is the plan for the Show Bugs class in 2015.
Term 1 – Performance skills and rehearsals ‘Back To The 80s’
Term 2 – Rehearsals and performance of ‘Back To The 80s’ at the Star Theatre
Term 3 – Rehearsals and performance of pantomime to be performed at the Odeon Theatre during the October school holidays
Term 4 – End of year production at Forge Theatre (Show Bugs play the lead roles)
In July, there is an additional performance opportunity to be involved in a performance at Her Majesty’s Theatre as part of the ‘Something On Saturday’ programme. Details will be available early 2015.
For further information about Show Bugs, see our Show Bugs class information page.
If your child is unsuccessful, they can continue in their current class and encouraged to audition again in the future. It is important that students understand that only a few are successful due to limited positions in the class. Good luck!
