Casmira - Teacher
B. Education/Arts (Drama and English)

Cassie is a qualified teacher with a Bachelors degree in Education/Arts (Secondary) majoring in Drama and English.

Born into a family where everyone acts, dances and plays a musical instrument, Cassie has grown up with a love of performing arts and is deeply passionate about using the performing arts and creative play as a platform for helping children grow and develop physically and emotionally. Cassie is also passionate about language and the written word. Recently she won the English Teachers Association award for excellence in English teaching and has had extensive training in reading and performing Shakespeare.

Cassie has been singing as a soloist and in choirs since she was 7 years old. She has been involved with the Adelaide and Australian Girls’ Choir, as well as Bella Voce at the Elder Conservatorium.  As a solo singer she auditioned and received entry to the conservatorium Bachelor of Music Studies, which she eventually left to pursue her education degree at Flinders University.  Cassie also loves dance, and has trained  in Ballet, Jazz and Tap.

Cassie has performed with several theatre companies and has completed several courses in improvisation as well as coached and captained some local theatre sports teams. Cassie especially loves using all her skills performing in musical theatre. Most recently she has performed in the G&S society's Les Miserables, Into the Woods, and the professional Jesus Christ Superstar at Her Majesty's Theatre in 2010.

During her last 4 years as a teacher at 'Bugs' Cassie has found the most joy in developing relationships with her students, and watching them grow into confident and talented young performers whilst having a lot of fun along the way!!
