Carlia - Teacher
Currently studying Bachelor of Teaching
Carlia fell in love with the field of performing arts at a very young age. From the age of 2, Carlia started dancing classes, learning jazz and tap. From there she advanced into different styles of dance including cheerleading and funk. She has been dancing ever since! Carlia has undertaken singing lessons since the age of 8, and has been a part of numerous ensembles throughout high school. She began acting at 11 years old, but it wasn’t until Carlia became a student at Theatre Bugs in 2006 that her love for acting and theatre grew.
Carlia was a student in the class ‘Show Bugs’ for 4 years, where she had the opportunity to perform pantomimes to the general public. She thoroughly enjoyed performing to audiences filled with excited children as it ignited her passion for acting and theatre, as well as discovering her love for children.
Carlia feels very privileged to be a part of the Theatre Bugs staff. Starting as a student, she has seen her confidence grow immensely and she has realised how much joy performing brings to her life. She loves working with children, passing on her knowledge to the younger generation, and seeing their confidence grow at Theatre Bugs, just like hers has.
