Casandra Blagdanic - Teacher
B.A Education (currently studying)
Casandra has always been extremely passionate about the performing arts from a very young age. She started singing in her Primary School Choir and received her first solo at the Festival Theatre at the age of 12. As she entered high school she was awarded with a musical scholarship which encouraged her to continue her studies in Classical Music to year 12 and also take part in various amateur theatre productions.
Casandra obtained the top scores in her classes of Child Studies, Drama Studies and Music Studies and was the school music captain in her final year of schooling. Finishing year 12 Casandra was awarded with the title of Musician of the Year and obtained 2 South Australian Merit awards for her efforts in Music Studies and Performance.
Inspired by her year 12 results, Casandra has continued with her passion to work with children and is now studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Middle) and is majoring in both Drama and Music. In her spare time Casandra undertakes contemporary dance classes with Australian Dance Theatre and is training to sing in the State Opera Company. She is currently working on a play called ‘Salome’- by Oscar Wilde that has been re-written to become The Innovative Musical Spectacular “Slumway”, with Casandra playing the lead role of Salome. This play can be seen in the 2011 Fringe Festival.
Casandra is very enthusiastic about working as part of the bugs team, and hopes to learn and grow with her students as they work together to inspire each other in the amazing area of performing arts.
